Football Recap: Navarro Comes Up Short

Navarro extended their losing streak to six on Thursday, dropping them down to 1-7. They were beaten by the Pflugerville Connally Cougars 63-6. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Vikings of the 55-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

As for Pflugerville Connally, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-4. That looming 63-6 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for them yet this season.

Jase Watkins had another great game (as he tends to do), throwing for 261 yards and five touchdowns on only 12 passes. He is becoming a predictor of Pflugerville Connally's success: when he posts at least three passing touchdowns the team is 2-1 (and 2-3 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Taj Gaddy, who rushed for 98 yards and one score on only 11 carries.

Navarro has already played their next matchup, a 63-0 defeat against McCallum on the 31st. As for Pflugerville Connally, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 49-7 victory against Elgin on the 31st.
