Football Recap: Chugiak Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Chugiak faced Soldotna in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Mustangs had to suffer through a 64-7 loss at the hands of the Stars. The Mustangs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 49-0.

Andon Wolverton was a one-man wrecking crew For Soldotna. as he rushed for 108 yards and a pair of scores on only six carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Matthew Schilling, who picked up 83 receiving yards and two TDs.

Chugiak's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Soldotna, the win was the fifth in a row (dating back to last season) for them, bringing their record up to 2-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chugiak will square off against Encinal at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Soldotna, they will face off against Dimond at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
