Softball Recap: Winthrop Comes Up Short at Home Against Mountain Valley

Winthrop unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Mountain Valley Falcons on Wednesday, falling 19-7. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it five in a row.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Winthrop will take on rival Madison at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Mountain Valley is set to face off against their familiar foe Hall-Dale at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
