Basketball Game Preview: Northwestern Trojans vs. Nation Ford Falcons

Northwestern and Nation Ford are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The Northwestern Trojans will welcome the Nation Ford Falcons at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with six consecutive losses for Northwestern and three for Nation Ford.

Northwestern is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Lancaster on Monday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Northwestern was beaten by Lancaster 78-49. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 133rd, while the Bruins are ranked fourth).

Meanwhile, Nation Ford suffered their closest loss since January 26th on Tuesday. They fell just short of Lancaster by a score of 59-56.

Nation Ford's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Northwestern, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.

Northwestern couldn't quite finish off Nation Ford when the teams last played back in December of 2023 and fell 43-40. Can Northwestern avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
