Basketball Recap: Saturday's Loss Ends Corinth's Winning Streak

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Corinth couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. The match between the Corinth Riverhawks and the Voorheesville Blackbirds didn't end well, with the Corinth Riverhawks falling 56-41. The Riverhawks' defeat signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Despite the loss, Corinth still got an impressive performance from Sage Shanahan, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and 16 boards. Those 20 points gave Shanahan a new career-high. Caitlyn Crossman was another key player, putting up six points and eight rebounds.

Even though they lost, Corinth was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. This was only their second loss (out of 13 games) when they've passed the ball that well.

Corinth's loss dropped their record down to 15-7. As for Voorheesville, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season.

Corinth does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Voorheesville, they will face off against Coxsackie-Athens at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
