Baseball Recap: Burbank's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak on the Road

If Burbank was feeling good fresh off their 11-0 takedown of Highlands last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Seguin Matadors by a score of 2-1 on Friday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Matadors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-1 back in March.

Burbank saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Matthew Meza, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Burbank's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-8. As for Seguin, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-7-1 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Burbank will challenge Brennan at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Seguin, they will take on Hays at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Hawks will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Matadors surely won't give up without a fight.
