Baseball Recap: Jesuit Finds Playoff Glory Versus Bonita Springs

It's playoff time, and Jesuit had no trouble coming through when it counted. They never let the Bonita Springs Bullsharks get on the board and left with a 10-0 win on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won nine matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Jesuit got a massive performance out of Robby Santana, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those two doubles gave Santana a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaden Waechter, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs.

Jesuit always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .621. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bonita Springs only posted an OBP of .000.

The victory (which was Jesuit's fifth in a row) raised their record to 20-8. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.6 runs over those games. As for Bonita Springs, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-12 record this season.

Jesuit will have a chance to go back-to-back against Bonita Springs: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
