Baseball Game Preview: Beaver Bobcats vs. Hopewell Vikings

Beaver is 1-9 against Hopewell since April of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Beaver Bobcats are taking a road trip to challenge the Hopewell Vikings at 4:00 p.m. Hopewell took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Beaver, who comes in off a win.

Last Wednesday, everything went Beaver's way against Armstrong as Beaver made off with a 12-5 win. That's two games straight that the Bobcats have won by exactly seven runs.

Beaver got a big performance out of RJ Sebek, who scored a run while going 3-for-5. Another player making a difference was Maddox Tanner, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Beaver always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .523. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Hopewell's offense. They lost 14-0 to Riverside on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Vikings have suffered since April 16, 2024.

Hopewell also got a good showing from Jacob Knobloch, who pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

Hopewell's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 0-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Beaver, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0.

Beaver might still be hurting after the 15-5 loss they got from Hopewell in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can Beaver avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
