Meridian has been on the road for three straight, but on Thursday they'll finally head home. They will finish 2023 at home by hosting the Live Oak Classical Falcons at 2:00 p.m. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Meridian humbled Morgan with a 38-8 victory. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Meridian has managed all season.
Meanwhile, Live Oak Classical strolled past Allen Academy with points to spare on Wednesday, taking the game 43-24.
Live Oak Classical's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Stella Sriram, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds. Those 14 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Julia Pitts, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds.
Meridian's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-8. As for Live Oak Classical, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-7 record this season.
