Basketball Recap: Camp Verde Piles Up the Points Against Red Rock

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Glendale Prep Academy, Camp Verde was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They blew past the Red Rock Scorpions, posting a 48-20 victory. This was payback for the Cowboys, who suffered a 56-24 loss the last time these two teams met.

Leading Camp Verde to victory were Angel Russell-Moss and Shanell Russell. Russell-Moss dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten boards, while Russell posted 13 points and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jazmin Torres, who earned five points and six rebounds.

Camp Verde's win bumped their record up to 8-11. As for Red Rock, their defeat was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-10.

Camp Verde will challenge Phoenix Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Red Rock, they will take on Grand Canyon at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
