Softball Recap: Cumberland County Comes Up Short

Chattanooga Central hit Cumberland County with a six-run fifth inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Jets came up short against the Pounders, falling 10-2. The Jets were not able to make up for their loss to the Pounders from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Cumberland County has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last ten matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-16 record this season. As for Chattanooga Central, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 16-7-1.

Cumberland County has already played their next contest (against Clarkrange), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Chattanooga Central will be paying especially close attention to the Jets' game: after the Jets face off against Jackson County, they'll take on Chattanooga Central again at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
