 There's no place like home for Newport - Bellevue, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road  last Wednesday. They had just enough and edged the Woodinville Falcons out  6-5. For Newport - Bellevue, this counts as revenge for the   8-1 loss Woodinville walked away with the last time they faced one another  back in April of 2023.
  Stephen Herr looked comfortable as he  didn't allow a single  earned run over four innings pitched.
 On the hitting side, Newport - Bellevue let  Dante Santulli and  Jace Rainey loose on the outfield. Santulli  went 1-for-3 with a  home run and three  RBI, while  Rainey  went 1-for-4 with a  home run and two  runs. Another player making a difference was  Yuma Noda, who  scored two  runs and  stole a base while  getting on base  in two of his four plate appearances.
 On Woodinville's side,  Alex Wenzel was cooking despite his team's loss,   scoring a  run while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of  Sam Courtney, who  scored a  run while going 3-for-4.
 Even though they lost, Woodinville was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .414. That's the best  batting average they've managed all season.
 Newport - Bellevue pushed their record up to 8-1 with that  victory, which was their sixth straight  at home dating back to last season. As for Woodinville, they now  have a losing record at 4-5.
 Newport - Bellevue will head out on the road to  face off against  Mount Si at 6:30  p.m.  on Monday. The two teams have allowed few  runs on average, (Newport - Bellevue: 3.4, Mount Si: 3.2) so any  runs scored will be well earned. As for Woodinville, they will be playing at home against Redmond at 7:00  p.m.  on Monday. Woodinville is facing Redmond at the right time seeing as Redmond is stuck on  a  seven-game losing streak.
