Softball Recap: Grapevine Victorious

Grapevine's tournament run continued when they took on Mansfield on Saturday. The Grapevine Mustangs came out on top against the Mansfield Tigers by a score of 8-4.

Bella MacMahon tossed a big game, striking out six batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits (and not a single walk).

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Raegan Stanley, who scored two runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. What's more, she posted two hits, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. Brynn Snyder also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Grapevine kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Grapevine's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Mansfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.

Grapevine and Mansfield's offenses will be put to the test in their next games. Grapevine will challenge Marcus at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, a squad that's only allowed three runs per game. Grapevine is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.4 runs per game this season. Meanwhile, Mansfield and Crandall (who has only given up 3.89 runs per game) will meet at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.
