Softball Game Preview: Emmanuel Christian Warriors vs. Rogers Rams

The Emmanuel Christian Warriors are taking a road trip to square off against the Rogers Rams at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

While Emmanuel Christian's victory against Toledo Christian wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Warriors skirted past the Eagles 6-4. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Maggie Woodward made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up four earned runs off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ariella Morris, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs. Morris is crushing it when it comes to home runs: she's launched at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Paris Foster was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Rogers won against Scott on Monday with 29 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Rams put the hurt on Woodward with a sharp 29-9 victory. The game marked the Rams' most dominant win of the season so far.

Rogers' victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-2. As for Emmanuel Christian, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Everything went Emmanuel Christian's way against Rogers when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as Emmanuel Christian made off with a 10-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
