The UIL girls basketball playoff brackets have been trimmed to 32 teams in each classification after one week of playoff games.

Those fortunate enough to score a third-round midweek victory will advance to weekend regional tournaments. From those tournaments will come the state final four field at San Antonio's Alamodome March 2-4.

The strongest districts in the playoffs in each classification

Class 6A: All four playoffs team from District 7 advanced through the first two playoff rounds. That sets up a third meeting for Duncanville-DeSoto, first and fourth-place finishers, and Cedar Hill-South Grand Prairie (Grand Prairie), third and second.
