Basketball Recap: Wesson Comes Up Short

Wesson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 50-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bogue Chitto Bobcats. The Cobras were not able to make up for their loss to the Bobcats from their previous meeting back in December of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Wesson lost, don't look at Damarion Smith. Despite the final result, he went 7-for-13 on his way to 17 points and four steals. Smith is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last three games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Brendon Duguid, who posted six points and 13 boards.

Wesson's record is now 0-3. As for Bogue Chitto, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Wesson has already played their next game, a 73-37 defeat against Pisgah on the 20th. Bogue Chitto has also already played their next matchup (against Loyd Star), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
