Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Colin Lamb and Whit Lamb Lead Laney to Victory

Laney had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They walked away with a 59-48 win over the Kid Stars Rising Christian Learning Academy Stars.

Laney was led to victory by Whit Lamb and Colin Lamb. Whit went 10-for-18 en route to 22 points in addition to five assists and five rebounds, while Colin shot 50% from the field to rack up 21 points and seven boards. Colin has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Kareem Anderson, who posted eight points and ten rebounds.

They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Laney was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kid Stars Rising Christian Learning Academy only posted eight.

Asany Richmond and Jeremiah Murchison certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Richmond went 9-for-12 on his way to 20 points, while Murchison put up 18 points along with five boards and three steals. Micah Smith was another key player, putting up six points.

Kid Stars Rising Christian Learning Academy now has a losing record of 2-3.

Coming up, Laney will be playing at home against Willow Spring at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Buccaneers will need to watch out since the Storm have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Kid Stars Rising Christian Learning Academy, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against GRACE Christian at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Stars' defense better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 60 points per game this season.
