Soccer Recap: Lenoir City Triumphs

Lenoir City proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by three) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the McMinn County Cherokees. The final result isn't all the surprising considering Lenoir City's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee soccer rankings (they are ranked 100th, while McMinn County are ranked 204th).

Lenoir City pushed their record up to 7-7-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 14 goals over those three matchups. As for McMinn County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-10.

Lenoir City does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for McMinn County, they will square off against Walker Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
