Softball Recap: Rittman Indians vs. Waynedale Golden Bears

Rittman had lost two consecutive heartbreakers to Waynedale and they left with a heavy heart again on Friday. The Indians lost 14-6 to the Golden Bears. The Indians haven't had much luck with the Golden Bears recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Lillian Halliwell was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and five unearned) runs off ten hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Carly Frame was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. Meredith Brown was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Rittman's defeat dropped their record down to 5-18. As for Waynedale, the victory got them back to even at 12-12.
