Volleyball Recap: Cypress Ridge Comes Up Short

After flying high against Northbrook on Tuesday, Cypress Ridge came back down to earth. The Rams came up short against the Jersey Village Falcons on Friday, falling 3-0. The Rams have struggled against the Falcons recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

While Cypress Ridge was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the third set. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-13, 25-22.

Jadyn Lastrap paced Cypress Ridge's offense, picking up nine kills. Lastrap got some help from Grace Massingill and her 17 assists. Finally, Kayilee Rollings kept Cypress Ridge's defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.

Cypress Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 5-26. As for Jersey Village, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 23-17.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Cypress Ridge will take on rival Stratford at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Jersey Village is set to face off against their familiar foe Memorial at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
