Basketball Recap: Purdy Snaps Five-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Purdy won the last time they faced Jefferson Independent Day and things went their way on Thursday too. The Purdy Eagles walked away with a 72-64 victory over the Jefferson Independent Day Cavaliers.

Despite the loss, Jefferson Independent Day still got an impressive performance from Jack Twiss, who went 10 of 18 on his way to 27 points along with eight assists and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Kohl Thurman, who went 6 for 9 en route to 13 points and eight rebounds.

Purdy's win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-1. As for Jefferson Independent Day, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-3.

Purdy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Exeter at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Jefferson Independent Day, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lockwood at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
