Baseball Game Preview: Steinmetz College Prep Silver Streaks vs. Kennedy Crusaders

Steinmetz College Prep is 0-4 against Kennedy since April of 2021 but things could change on Monday. Steinmetz College Prep will venture away from home to challenge Kennedy at 10:00 a.m. Steinmetz College Prep will be strutting in after a win while Kennedy will be coming in after a loss.

On Saturday, it was close, but Steinmetz College Prep sidestepped Noble Street College Prep for a 13-12 victory. The Silver Streaks haven't had any issues with the Golden Tigers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Juan Pablo Jaramillo made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Jaramillo was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Luis Jose Batista Taveras was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Santi ROSALES, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Steinmetz College Prep always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.

Meanwhile, Kennedy lost 15-4 to Amundsen on Saturday. The Crusaders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Kennedy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mason Rychetsky, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one run. That run was Rychetsky's first of the season. Christian Estreda was another, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Kennedy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Steinmetz College Prep, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
