Basketball Recap: Yulee Skates Past West Nassau with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Yulee). They took their contest on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 59-16 victory over the West Nassau Warriors. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 39-14.

Rheyna Hilton was her usual excellent self, almost dropping a double-double on 35 points and nine steals. Those 35 points gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Taylen Washington, who posted 11 points and five rebounds.

With the win, Yulee broke their six-game losing streak and moved their record to 1-5. As for West Nassau, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Yulee will square off against Hilliard at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hilliard will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Yulee surely won't give up without a fight. As for West Nassau, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 31-23 defeat against Englewood on the 11th.
