The Bishop Watterson Eagles will head out to take on the Olentangy Liberty Patriots at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. Bishop Watterson is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season.
Bishop Watterson fell victim to Grove City and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They came up short against the Greyhounds, falling 10-0. The loss continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Greyhounds: they've now lost three in a row.

Bishop Watterson saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Clare Feehan, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. Feehan is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games she's played.
Meanwhile, Olentangy Liberty had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.2 runs) and they went ahead and made it seven on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over the Celtics. The result was nothing new for the Patriots, who have now won nine matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Kailey McGinnis made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (four). She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Izzy Matteo was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Rylen Depaul was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Olentangy Liberty's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-4. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Bishop Watterson, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-12.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Bishop Watterson has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Olentangy Liberty struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Bishop Watterson beat Olentangy Liberty 6-3 in their previous meeting back in April of 2018. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Patriots turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
