Recap: Pine Crest Panthers vs. Franklin Academy Panthers
There's no place like home for the Pine Crest Panthers, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped on Monday as they easily beat Franklin Academy 84-42 at home.
Pine Crest's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Rowan Hoffman led the charge by scoring 24 points. That makes it four consecutive games in which Hoffman has scored at least 25% of Pine Crest's points. Dylan Wigoda was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Despite the defeat, Franklin Academy saw an underclassman step up: Robert Guishard dropped a double-double on 15 points and 15 rebounds. Guishard scored a full 35.7% of Franklin Academy's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Trent Davis, who scored 4 points along with 3 blocks.
Pine Crest's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Franklin Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pine Crest will take on Coconut Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Franklin Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against International Studies at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
