Preview: Grantsville Cowboys vs. Union Cougars
The Grantsville Cowboys will head out on the road to face off against the Union Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Utah (Grantsville is ranked 92nd, while Union is ranked 96th).
Grantsville pushed their score all the way to 58 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 68-58 to Ogden.
Despite the loss, Grantsville got a solid performance out of Bryson Roberts, who scored nine points along with five steals. Roberts is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Decker Dzierzon, who scored nine points along with six rebounds.
Union suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Wednesday. They were outmatched by South Summit at home and fell 70-43. Union's defeat continues an unfortunate trend for the squad, making it three in a row.
Grantsville has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season. As for Union, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-12.
Grantsville came up short against Union in their previous matchup on January 10th, falling 53-40. Can Grantsville avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
