Tipton hasn't had much luck against Frankton recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Blue Devils will square off against the Eagles at 5:30 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
While Tipton's win against Benton Central wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Blue Devils narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Bison 8-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Blue Devils have posted since April 18th.
Chasity Kelich made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and six unearned) runs off nine hits. Those eight strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Makayla Schinlaub was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Ava Higginbotham also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
Tipton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They are 4-2 when they post 11 or more hits.
Fans were treated to a battle of the Eagles on Friday. Frankton's pitcher stepped up to hand Delta a 10-0 shutout. Frankton might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by six runs or more this season.
Like Tipton, Frankton also got a great game from a two-way player: Paige Parker. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. Parker has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ava Stanley, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Malorie Clark was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
The victory made it two in a row for Frankton and bumps their season record up to 12-7. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 0 runs in those games. As for Tipton, their record now sits at 6-15.
Tipton suffered a grim 12-1 defeat to Frankton in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Blue Devils avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
