Basketball Recap: Stuart Finds Home Court Redemption Against Valentine

There's no place like home for Stuart, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They walked away with a 50-41 win over Valentine on Thursday. This was payback for the Broncos, who suffered a 46-34 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Despite the loss, Valentine saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Paige Sprenger went 7 of 16 en route to 20 points in addition to eight steals and six rebounds. That was a full 48.8% of Valentine's points, marking the 12th time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tierney Miller, who had 11 points.

Stuart is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. As for Valentine, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-11.

Stuart will welcome North Central at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. North Central will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Stuart surely won't give up without a fight. Valentine has already played their next matchup, a 54-33 loss against Broken Bow on the 24th.
