Volleyball Recap: Randolph Takes a Loss

Randolph was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Lourdes Knights. The Rockets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Knights apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2019.

Madelynn Medema paced Randolph's offense, picking up eight kills. Medema got some help from Tessa Reed and her 23 assists. Reed was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Randolph's defeat dropped their record down to 15-19. As for Lourdes, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-13 record this season.

After both having extra time off, Randolph and Parkview will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Lourdes, they will head out to take on St. Mary Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
