Baseball Recap: Westwood Comes Up Short

Westwood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 13-6 to the Lugoff-Elgin Demons. If the Redhawks were looking for revenge after losing 9-2 to the Demons when the teams met back in March of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Zachary Nelson was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Kellen Moore, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-5.

Westwood's defeat dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Lugoff-Elgin, they now also have a winning record of 9-8.

While Westwood had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
