COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. -
Pottsgrove (Pa.) snapped the five-game winning streak of
Perkiomen Valley (Collegeville, Pa.), with a 23-12 victory on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a field goal by
Jonathon Klinger in the second quarter, the Falcons led 9-6 at the half.
Pottsgrove grew its lead to 10 points entering the fourth quarter. PHS scored once in the quarter on a
Jalen Mayes touchdown run.
With the win the Falcons extended their winning streak to nine games. Pottsgrove defeated Phoenixville 52-14 last week.
Pottsgrove came into the game allowing 8.6 points per game.
Last season's game between the teams resulted in a 42-28 win for PHS.
The loss comes after Perkiomen Valley defeated Boyertown 48-6 last week.
In a Pioneer game next week Perkiomen Valley (7-2) takes on Upper Perkiomen, and Pottsgrove (9-0) will go up against Boyertown also in a Pioneer game.
