Softball Recap: Presentation Panthers vs. Castilleja Gators
The Presentation Panthers made easy work of the Castilleja Gators on Monday and carried off a 17-4 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.
Allie Malatesta was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. What's more, she posted five strikeouts, the most she's had since back in March. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Julia Simon, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Juliana Yurko, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

The Panthers are facing the Wildcats at the right time seeing as the Wildcats are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Castilleja, they will face off against Sequoia at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Ravens will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Gators surely won't give up without a fight.
