Basketball Recap: Estero Picks Up Fourth Straight Win at Home

Estero had won three straight home games dating back to last season and Amiya Lewis did her part to make it four on Tuesday. The Estero Wildcats walked away with a 53-43 victory over the Lehigh Lightning thanks in part to Lewis, who went 11 of 21 on her way to 26 points and eight rebounds. Her evening made it nine games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Jordyn Vaill, who posted ten points and five rebounds. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points.

Lehigh lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Rianne Smith, who put up 19 points and three steals. That was a full 44.2% of Lehigh's points, marking the third time in a row she's had more than a third of the team's points. Terryah Lawson was another key player, putting up seven points along with six boards and four steals.

Estero's record now sits at 3-0. As for Lehigh, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Estero didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 64-40 defeat against Canterbury on the 5th. As for Lehigh, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 54-41 win against Ida Baker on the 5th.
