Softball Recap: Scappoose Falls Short Against Ranked St. Helens

Scappoose faced St. Helens in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Indians fell just short of the Lions by a score of 2-1. The Indians haven't had much luck with the Lions recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Sophia Bloyd made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one triple and one run.

Scappoose's loss dropped their record down to 15-3. As for St. Helens, their win was their 21st straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-1.

Looking ahead, Scappoose will face off against Tillamook at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for St. Helens, they will take on Pendleton at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
