Arvada West is 8-0 against Boulder since December of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Arvada West Wildcats face off against the Boulder Panthers at 1:00 p.m. Arvada West will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

Last Friday, Arvada West beat Legacy 35-26. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 21st, while the Lightning are ranked 106th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Arvada West's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Macie Ferguson, who posted 13 points. Saylor Swanson was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds.

Arvada West smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in four consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Boulder strolled past Northglenn with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 46-30. The Panthers pushed the score to 44-21 by the end of the third, a deficit the Norsemen cut but never quite recovered from.

Arvada West pushed their record up to 8-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.8 points per game. As for Boulder, the win got them back to even at 5-5.

Everything went Arvada West's way against Boulder when the teams last played back in December of 2023, as Arvada West made off with a 43-18 victory. Does Arvada West have another victory up their sleeve, or will Boulder turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
