Basketball Recap: Arthur-Okaw Christian Conquering Riders vs. Urbana University Illineks
In what's become a running theme this season, the Arthur-Okaw Christian Conquering Riders gave their fans yet another huge victory on Thursday. They put the hurt on Urbana University with a sharp 53-32 victory. Winning may never get old, but Arthur-Okaw Christian sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Addisyn Erwin was her usual excellent self, shooting 4-for-5 from beyond the arc and almost dropping a double-double on 26 points and nine steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Arthur-Okaw Christian's points. Another player making a difference was Annabelle Haskins, who scored 16 points.
Arthur-Okaw Christian pushed their record up to 22-3 with that win, which was their 11th straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.1 points per game. As for Urbana University, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-16.
Arthur-Okaw Christian will be playing at home against the Cardinals at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Chrisman will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings (they are ranked 607th, while the Conquering Riders are ranked 252nd). As for Urbana University, they will head out on the road to face off against the Bunnies at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Fisher has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since January 6.
