Baseball Recap: Orlando Christian Prep's Win Ends Four-Game Losing Streak at Home

Orlando Christian Prep won against Holy Cross Lutheran Academy last Friday with 20 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. Orlando Christian Prep never let City of Life Christian Academy get on the board and left with a 20-0 victory. The result was nothing new for Orlando Christian Prep, who have now won eight matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Carter Reis made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Orlando Christian Prep is 7-1 when Reis posts two or more runs, but 2-5 otherwise.

In other batting news, Blaise Schuster was a standout: he scored three runs while going 3-for-3. What's more, he posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden Schuster, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Orlando Christian Prep was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .474. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Orlando Christian Prep's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-6. As for City of Life Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 3-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Orlando Christian Prep will take on Mainland at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Warriors' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Buccaneers have averaged an impressive 9.1 runs per game this season. As for City of Life Christian Academy, they will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Calvary Chapel Academy at 6:00 p.m. The Eagles are coming into the contest with three straight defeats at home, meaning the Warriors will have to defend against a team out to give their home crowd a much needed win.
