Recap: Ben Lippen Falcons vs. Augusta Christian Lions
The Ben Lippen Falcons fought the good fight in their overtime game against the Augusta Christian Lions on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Lions by a score of 31-28. Ben Lippen was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Augusta Christian apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2022.
Several Falcons players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Blake Bost, who gained 103 total yards and a touchdown. Bost was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 58 yards. Buzz Buxton also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Even if they lost, Ben Lippen's defense still kept up the pressure with 3.5 sacks. Leading the way was Jed Essig and his two sacks.
Ben Lippen now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Augusta Christian, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-5.
Ben Lippen will take on Camden Military at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Camden Military is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak. As for Augusta Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Cardinal Newman at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Cardinal Newman and Augusta Christian are at an even 3-3 over their past six head-to-heads.
