Baseball Recap: Normal West Comes Up Short

After flying high against Urbana last Monday, Normal West came back down to earth. The Wildcats fell 7-4 to the Bloomington Purple Raiders on Wednesday. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Purple Raiders apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Chase Knuth made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to home runs, as he's now launched at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

Normal West's defeat dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Bloomington, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-2.

While Normal West had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
