Calvary Christian snaps four-game streak of wins on the road

Recap: Calvary Christian Cougar vs. Gospel Light Christian

It was a good run, but the Calvary Christian Cougar unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 58-45 to Gospel Light Christian. Calvary Christian has not had much luck with Gospel Light Christian recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.

Gospel Light Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Drake Walker, who scored 24 points. The match was Walker's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Samuel Sisk was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with seven rebounds and five assists.

Calvary Christian's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-8. As for Gospel Light Christian, their win was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-2.

After both having extra time off, Calvary Christian and Tabernacle Christian will shake off the cobwebs and square off against one another at 7:45 p.m. on January 5, 2024. Tabernacle Christian will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 575th, while Calvary Christian is ranked 229th). Gospel Light Christian will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Woodland Baptist Christian at 6:45 p.m. on January 5, 2024.
