Volleyball Recap: Scott City Takes a Loss

If Scott City was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Sikeston on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Rams came up short against the Leopold Wildcats on Monday, falling 3-0. The Rams were not able to make up for their defeat to the Wildcats from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-17, 25-13, 25-16.

Leopold was led to victory by Malia VanderMierden and Brenna Beussink. VanderMierden had 13 digs and two aces, while Beussink had six digs and two aces. That's the most aces Beussink has posted over her last nine contests.

Scott City's loss dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Leopold, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 18-1-2.

Scott City wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Charleston on the 30th. As for Leopold, they will venture away from home to challenge Notre Dame at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
