Volleyball Recap: Harper Mccormick's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Mount Union over Glendale

Mount Union lost against Glendale back in September of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Trojans took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Vikings.

The final score came out to 25-18, 25-16, 21-25, 25-21.

Mount Union lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Harper McCormick, who had nine kills, five aces, and four digs. She has been hot, having posted three or more aces the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tenly Huffnagle, who had 11 kills, six digs, and one block.

Glendale's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Rachel McClellan led the charge by getting 18 kills and ten digs. Another player making a difference was Madilyn Skebeck, who had nine digs, six blocks, and five aces.

Mount Union suffered their first home loss, dropping their record down to 3-3. As for Glendale, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mount Union will take on Southern Huntingdon County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Glendale, they will face off against Juniata Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
