The Avery County Vikings''s three-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They strolled past Owen with points to spare, taking the game 39-21. That's another feather in the cap for Avery County, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Avery County was led to victory by Oak Markland and Logan Wayne Brown. Markland picked up 96 receiving yards and two touchdowns, while Brown rushed for 114 yards and three touchdowns.
Avery County's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Owen, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 1-8.
Avery County will take on Mitchell at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Owen, they will be playing at home against Madison at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
