Basketball Recap: Berkmar Comes Up Short

Berkmar was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat. They took a blow against the Duluth Wildcats, falling 45-12. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Patriots this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 59-19 back in December of 2024.

Duluth's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Za'Ni Carter led the charge by going 6 of 13 en route to 14 points and three steals. Carter has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Saniya Johnson, who went 5 for 11 on her way to 12 points and five steals.

Berkmar's loss dropped their record down to 1-17. As for Duluth, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-11.

Berkmar wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 65-9 defeat against Parkview on the 28th. Duluth has also already played their next matchup, a 49-30 loss against North Gwinnett on the 28th.
