Muleshoe waltzed into their game on Monday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They came out on top against the Slaton Tigers by a score of 5-2. This was payback for the Mules, who suffered a 7-3 loss the last time these two teams met.

Adalie Agundis spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on seven hits and racked up 11 Ks. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March of 2024.

At the plate, Muleshoe let Isabela Elizalde and Addilene Blanco run wild. Elizalde went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one stolen base, while Blanco scored a run while going 3-for-4. What's more, Blanco posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in February.

Muleshoe pushed their record up to 14-6 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.7 runs over those games. As for Slaton, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-8.

The future could be bright for both Muleshoe and Slaton: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Muleshoe will try to hand Dimmitt their fourth-straight loss when the two meet at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Slaton will look to extend Roosevelt's four-game losing streak when they meet at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
