Baseball Game Preview: Deltona Wolves vs. Lake Brantley Patriots

The Deltona Wolves will venture away from home to take on the Lake Brantley Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Deltona will be strutting in after a victory while Lake Brantley will be coming in after a defeat.

Deltona gave up the first runs on Wednesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They walked away with an 8-4 win over Seminole.

Noah Lochiatto was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Lochiatto was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

In other pitching news, Brayden Thorn tossed a big game, tossing six innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Deltona is 2-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 7-12 otherwise.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Jayden Lochiatto, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February. Jay Albizu was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Lake Brantley fell victim to Winter Springs and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Bears, falling 8-0. The Patriots have struggled against the Bears recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Deltona's record is now 9-13. As for Lake Brantley, their loss dropped their record down to 14-8-1.
