Basketball Recap: Silver Creek Skates Past Salem with Ease

A well-balanced attack led Silver Creek over Salem in every quarter on their way to victory on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Silver Creek Dragons blew the Salem Lions out of the water with an 83-27 final score. The Dragons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Dane Sprigler continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 10-for-12 on his way to 26 points in addition to five assists and five rebounds. What's more, he also posted an 83% shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Brandon Hunter, who posted ten points along with eight assists and five steals.

The victory was the third in a row for Silver Creek, bringing their record for this year to 19-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 79.0 points over those games. As for Salem, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season.

Silver Creek will challenge Corydon Central at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Corydon Central is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.9 points per game this season. As for Salem, they will take on Charlestown at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Charlestown also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 63.2 points per game.
