Clear Lake took a seven-run  defeat the last time they faced off against Humboldt, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Lions sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  12-11  victory over the Wildcats  on Friday. Winning may never get old, but the Lions sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.
Clear Lake's win was  their fifth straight on the road, which  pushed their record up to 7-2. Those  road  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 12.8 runs over those games. As for Humboldt,  this is the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 1-4.
 Clear Lake has already played their next matchup,  a  12-1  win against Lake Mills on the 7th. As for Humboldt, they will challenge Iowa Falls-Alden at 7:30  p.m.  on Monday.
