Softball Recap: Greenhill Has No Trouble Against Hockaday

Greenhill came out on top against Hockaday on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run first inning. The Hornets put the hurt on the Daisies with a sharp 10-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Hornets in their matchups with the Daisies: they've now won three in a row.

Sammie Engberg was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Engberg was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brielle Kommer, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI and one triple. That triple was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Bailey Fisher, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Greenhill always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .567. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hockaday only posted an OBP of .300.

Greenhill's record now sits at 3-5. As for Hockaday, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-10.

As of now, neither Greenhill nor the Daisies have any future games scheduled.
