Boyd-Buchanan let Brodie Johnston and Cooper Jones loose on the outfield. Johnston went 3-for-5 with a home run, two runs, and a stolen base, while Jones scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Jones has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times he's played. Caden Henry was another key contributor, going 3-for-5 with four RBI and a double.

On Union County's side, Trot Russell was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.
